Drought Properties Inc. was founded in 1995 by Harry T. Drought. Prior to founding the company, Mr. Drought was Chief Executive Officer of the Guy Chipman Company Property Management Division for 16 years. Mr. Drought also holds the aspired designation of Certified Property Manager (CPM®) and is a former President of the local chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management. In addition, Mr. Drought has served as Director of the local San Antonio Board of Realtors, Texas Association of Realtors, and the Commercial Investment Division. Our company is prepared to offer a sophisticated range of services to our clients.

Previously the commercial division of Guy Chipman Company, Drought Properties, Inc. has been in business as a successful independent entity for 14 years, for a total of over 27 years of commercial real estate experience. Our company focus has been the management, sales, disposition, and leasing of office, retail, service center and multifamily properties with an emphasis on long term asset appreciation for a variety of corporate entities as well as individual investors.

Mr. Drought is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Drought Properties, Inc. in 1995 the firm has grown to a current size of 50 multi-family communities and over 20 commercial properties under management. From 1979 to 1995, he served as Chief Executive Officer of the Guy Chipman Company Property Management Division where he directed all aspects of the company’s commercial and residential real estate management business.

Mr. Drought supervises the operation of the company and overseas the management of the managed portfolio including multi-family, retail office, warehouses, mini-storage, and single family homes.

 An active member of the real estate community Mr. Drought has held numerous leadership positions in local, state and national professional organization including Past President of the San Antonio Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management, Chairman of the Property Management Committee of the San Antonio Board of Realtors and Board Member of the Texas Association of Realtors. Currently serving as Director for the San Antonio Apartment Association. He is also a long time National Governing Councilor of the Institute of Real Estate Management. 

Mr. Drought has served as an instructor of the San Antonio Board of Realtors, a guest speaker at the University of Texas at San Antonio and a contributing author for Texas Realtor Magazine. He has earned the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management and is a Licensed Texas Real Estate Broker. His community contributions include service as City Councilman for the City of Grey Forest and Chairman of the Grey Forest Utilities.
